Types of Vape Kit

this makes it one of the most popular devices for beginners. Cigalikes are incredibly easy to use, with disposable refills available in menthol or tobacco flavours.

Pod Vape Kits

Pod vape kits offer simplicity and a sleek, low profile design. These devices are well suited to vapers of any...

experience level, combining excellent performance and ease of use in a pocket-friendly package. Pod vapes are generally cheap and affordable but do not compromise on quality.

Vape Pens

Vape pens are pen-shaped vaping devices that feature a refillable tank and replaceable coils. Vape pens tend to be...

straightforward to use with limited features, but are favoured by both new and experienced vapers due to their small profile, affordable prices and ease of use.

Box Mod kits

Box Kits feature a box shaped battery section (or 'mod') with a refillable tank and replaceable coils. These...

devices often feature larger batteries than vape pens and, although some simple one-button versions are available, they often have customisable settings.

Sub Ohm kits

Sub Ohm kits are generally suited to more experienced vapers. These devices offer a 'direct-to-lung' vaping style...

and produce larger clouds of vapour. Some vapers prefer this type of device as they find the larger clouds more satisfying. However, they are best-suited to lower nicotine e-liquids and therefore generally not so well suited to beginners.

The best vapes for beginners

By default, vape kits don't tend to come with e-liquid. However, here at OK Vape, every vape kit comes with your choice of two FREE e-liquids from our range!

MTL and DTL are acronyms for terms of different vaping styles which play an important part when it comes to choosing an e-cigarette. MTL means 'mouth to lung', which is where the vapour from the e-cigarette is inhaled into the mouth, then into the lungs, similar to how most smokers inhale the smoke from a cigarette.

DTL is 'direct to lung' vaping, where the vapour is inhaled directly into the lungs. This is generally better suited to more experienced vapers. This is otherwise known as 'sub ohm' vaping.

Most devices are designed for either MTL or DTL vaping, however many vape kits now offer both styles.

Vape kits made for MTL vaping use coils with a higher resistance, generally 1 ohm and above. The liquid in the tank is vapourised at a cooler temperature and therefore a cooler, thinner vapour is produced - similar to smoke.

As before, your vape kit will need at least a 1 ohm coil resistance with suitable e-liquid.  E-liquid with a higher ratio of VG are thicker, making it less suitable for an MTL kit. You'll need to use e-liquids with at least a 50% ratio of PG.

DTL vape kits use coils with a resistance below 1 ohm. This allows the coil to heat e liquid at a higher temperature and therefore creates warmer, more dense clouds of vapour. These kits are usually bigger and allow wattage and other settings to be adjusted to the suit users taste.

Ensure your device has a coil installed that is less than 1 ohm, and will likely need a lower nicotine strength e-liquid (as you'll get a stronger hit of nicotine in one go). No matter the strength, e-liquids with at least 50% VG content are best suited.
