MTL & DTL Vape Kits
MTL stands for ‘mouth-to-lung’ and ‘DTL’ stands for ‘direct-to-lung’. These terms relate to two different vaping styles and play an important part when it comes to choosing an e-cigarette. Mouth-to-lung is where the vapour from an e-cigarette is inhaled into the mouth, then into the lungs. This is similar to how most smokers inhale smoke from a cigarette. Direct-to-lung is where the vapour is inhaled from the e-cigarette directly into the lungs. This style of vaping is generally better suited to more experienced vapers.
Most devices are designed for either MTL or DTL vaping, however many vape kits now offer both styles. This is achieved by the kit having compatible coils with different ‘resistances’; this is measured in ‘ohms’. A coil with more than 1 ohm resistance will produce a mouth to lung vape. A coil with less than 1 ohm resistance will produce a direct to lung vape.
