Nicotine salt e liquids are an excellent option for new vapers switching from cigarettes, or for those who prefer a stronger nicotine hit. They provide a fast, smooth nicotine hit without the harsh throat hit often experienced when vaping regular vape juices at higher strengths.
Our Nic Salt e-liquid range might suit you if you:
Most e liquids (including our 50/50 range) use freebase nicotine. Freebase nicotine actually comes from nicotine ‘salts’ that have been stripped of certain protons using ammonia. This increases the pH level and in turn, increases the strength of the nicotine. Freebase nicotine has been used in traditional cigarettes since the 1970’s when it was developed by the tobacco company, Phillip Morris.
The downside of freebase nicotine is that it can produce a harsh throat hit when inhaled via smoke or vapour at higher concentrations. For those attempting to switch from smoking to vaping, often a higher nicotine strength is required to satisfy cravings. However, the harsh throat hit of freebase nicotine vape juices can lead vapers to use lower strengths and in turn, use more eliquid, or even give up on vaping altogether. This is where Nicotine Salts come in.
Nicotine salts occur naturally in the leaves of the tobacco plant. It’s these very salts that are extracted and modified to produce freebase nicotine. In their natural state, they are not effective at reaching the nicotine receptors in the body. However, by lowering the pH levels with benzoic or citric acid, nicotine salts can be more rapidly absorbed by the body’s nicotine receptors. The lower pH levels also produce a much smoother throat hit.
This means that Nicotine Salt liquids can provide a smooth, strong and fast nicotine hit that is comparable to that of a traditional cigarette.
