Top Tips for Maximum Vape Flavour
Get the Best Vape Experience
If you feel like making the move to vaping, we want you to get the maximum enjoyment from the whole experience, as well as saving money or getting healthier if you are a smoker. As with anything new, there are a few important things you need to know up front, in order to choose the most suitable vaping products for you.
If you haven’t already, you may want to read our blogs about choosing the right Vape Kit and the right E-Liquid, flavour and PG/ VG balance depending on whether you want the biggest clouds or throat hit not unlike smoked tobacco, if you are trying to stop smoking.
Another thing to consider when making the switch to vaping is how to get the best out of your Vape Kit. Once you have become used to how the hardware works, spending a small amount of time maintaining it will help you get the best flavour, the smoothest taste and give you the best possible experience from vaping.
In today’s blog, we’ll look at some advice as to what to focus on to get the very best flavour out of vaping.
Choose the Right Coil
A coil a removeable small metal tune that fits inside the tank of a vape kit. It contains the coil wire and a cotton wick which soaks up the e-liquid and the coil wire heats the juice up and turns it into vapour. We’ll look at some examples based on the kits we supply, all of which come with a coil pre-fitted and one spare.
It is important to choose the correct coil for the type of E-Liquid, type and brand of hardware you are using. If you choose the wrong one, you may experience a harsh throat hit that could be unpleasant.
For a high concentration of nicotine and a smooth taste, a lot of customers choose our NicSalts E-Liquids. At 18mg in nicotine strength, they are well suited to new vapers making the switch from cigarettes, and an 8 Ohm coil will give you the smoothest vape.
The Innokin EZ Watt Kit is a versatile Vape Kit that can be used for Sub Ohm vaping or Classic e-Liquids. It comes with a choice of 2 free E-Liquids and you can choose between OK Classic or Nic Salts. Out of the box, it comes with a 8 ohm coil already fitted and a spare 1.5 ohm coil supplied for free. This is so that our customers can try using it with both NicSalt and Sub Ohm E-liquids, to decide which they like the best.
If, for instance, you quite like the 50/50 PG/VG of NicSalts then you might want to stock up on 8 Ohm Prism coils. A lot of new customers find the high strength and smooth taste of NicSalts a great introduction to vaping, with the high 18mg strength helping with the initial cravings in the first weeks of stopping smoking.
If you would like to mostly use our OK Classic E-Liquids then you might want to try swapping the pre-fitted 0.8 ohm coil for the 1.5 Ohm option of these coils, before you try our Classic E-Liquids. These E-Liquids have a high 70% PG make up, so tend to be better for those who want the throat hit and strength of flavour, as opposed to the higher cloud production of VG E-Liquids.
Alternatively, if you like the look of our popular Aspire range of Sub Ohm vape kits, you’ll need to be aware of the differences in the coils that they take;
- Aspire PockeX Kit; 6 ohm PockEx Coils – comes with 1 pre-fitted and 1 spare, replacements available in packs of 5.
- Aspire K4 Starter Kit; 0.2 ohm Aspire Cleito Coils – comes with 1 pre-fitted and 1 spare, replacements available in packs of 5. Just make sure you order the 0.2 ohm option!
- Aspire Speeder Kit; 0.16 – 0.3ohm Aspire Athos Coils – this top of the range Vape kit has more bells and whistles than others we sell. As well as temperature controls, this kit can take either 0.16 or 0.3 ohm coils, to give you 2 takes on Sub Ohm vaping for all of our Sub Ohm E-Liquids.
Change Your Coil Regularly
If you start to notice a slightly burnt taste when vaping, it’s time to change the coil. How often you will need to change coils will vary depending on which Vape Kit you use and often you use it, as well as the E-Liquid you use. But, as a rough guide, you should change to a brand-new coil every 2 weeks or so and make sure you follow manufacturers’ instructions when replacing the coil, to avoid leaks or damage to the coil.
Keep Your Tank Clean
If you can’t decide between your favourite E-Liquids, then you may want to consider both cleaning your tank and changing coils when you change E-Liquids. This way you can avoid poor flavour and taste when mixing flavour combinations, whilst the new E-Liquid is replacing the old. It might also mean that you don’t waste any E-Liquids – the last thing we want you to do!
PG E-Liquids for Flavour, VG for Clouds
If you are more concerned with taste & flavour than with the size of the cloud, then you are best going for higher PG vape juice, as the propylene glycol carries flavours better than the vegetable glycerine in VG E-liquids.
Obviously, if you want a balance between the 2 then there are 50/50 E-Liquids in the OK range that you can choose from.
Look After Your Vape Juice
Although you may find that use a whole bottle of your favourite vape juice in just a week or so, it is still important to be careful how you store it and when to refill. In terms of storage, you are best off keeping it away from light and heat and making sure you keep the bottle top securely fastened in order to keep it from degrading. In terms of when to refill, don’t let the level in your Vape Kit fall below the holes in the coil as you’ll experience a “Dry Vape”, which you will never want to experience again. It will not only taste horrible but you may well burn the coil, which you will have to replace unnecessarily.
